Sarah Farrell – Social Worker and Counsellor

Sarah has 15 years experience in counselling and psychotherapy, and has worked in a range of settings with young people and adults, rural and remote, and within the metropolitan area. She has worked with diverse populations, with survivors of trauma and abuse; with military veterans and their families , within primary health care and with university students.

With Humanistic foundations, Sarah is authentic and client-centred in her approach, and enjoys working in a collaborative way with her clients. She is able to work with a range of presenting issues and concerns, including anxiety and phobias, depression, trauma, grief and loss, adjustment issues and relationship concerns. Her passion is existential, meaning-centred work, and she most recently undertook training in Logotherapy, which enables her to support people who are feeling lost, experiencing tension within their current work or life roles, or those who are seeking direction and purpose in their lives, after recovering from trauma or loss.

Sarah also has a strong interest in sports psychology and enjoys training for ultra marathons, whilst also supporting others to achieve their own running or endurance sports goals. Sarah is trained in a range of modalities including but not limited to: EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing); Hypnotherapy; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy; Mindfulness; and Various Cognitive Behavioural Therapies.

Sarah is able to provide Counselling and Psychotherapy services to individuals, couples and groups. She is also able to develop and facilitate Psycho-educational workshops and groups and provides individual and group supervision (Social Work & Counselling).
